Paul Bitzan is a motivating instructor and a natural leader. Since Joining Sorce Martial Arts, he has had a significant, positive, influence on the school. He is an accomplished competitor and a good role model for other students and instructors.
Mr. Bitzan began his martial arts journey in 1990 in Milwaukee, WI. In 1992, he entered the US Air Force and continued his training at Rardin's Taekwon-do in Alamogordo, NM while he was stationed at Holloman, AFB. Just prior to separating from the Air Force in 1996, Mr. Bitzan earned his 2nd Degree black belt.
Upon returning to the Milwaukee area, Mr. Bitzan continued to train and became the instructor for a youth-outreach program at Hamilton High School and, later, at Lincoln Elementary in Cudahy. From 1996 to 2004, he taught the outreach programs and searched for a martial arts school that fit his needs. In that time, Mr. Bitzan carried on with his Taekwon-Do training, and gained some experience with other martial arts like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Hapkido.
In 2005, Mr. Bitzan finally found a "home" at Sorce Martial Arts. He immediately began assisting with classes and in 2007, he completed the CIT program and shortly thereafter earned full instructor certification. Mr. Bitzan also began learning the Inayan System of Eskrima in 2005 and he assists with class instruction under Mr. Sorce.
Mr. Bitzan is married and has four children. The entire family trains at Sorce Martial Arts and his oldest child, Mark, is a black belt member of the Junior Leadership Team. When he is not practicing martial arts, Mr. Bitzan enjoys writing and playing guitar.
